GSL October Final at Blizzcon in Anaheim

July 12, 2011 1 comment

Global StarCraft 2 League

This is amazing news, the GSL final in October will be held at Blizzcon in Anaheim, USA. This will give us TWO StarCraft 2 tournaments at Blizzon.

Mr.Chae from GOMTV writes that he got many requests from the foreign scene about hosting the GSL final outside South Korea so people around the world would have an easier way to watch the finals live. So Mr.Chae decided to look around on where GOMTV could host the finals and they ended up with Blizzcon in Anaheim USA.

I don’t want StarCraft 2 to become an e-sports title like SC BW which was excluded to people inside of Korea.

But this doesn’t mean that Blizzard are shutting down their own tournament at all. They will still host their tournament along with the GSL final. That means that we get twice as much StarCraft 2 action in Anaheim!

Yes, the final for GSL Oct. will be held in Anaheim. You will be able to enjoy both Blizzcon events and GSL final.

For this week I bring you one of the games between oGsMC and GGNaugrim. This is a back and forth game.

I don’t say that this game is perfect or the best game that you ever have seen but it’s an interesting game that you might like.

Turkish Gaming Federation

June 24, 2011 2 comments

Turkish Gaming FederationThere will be an eSports World championship event in Korea soon, but because that Turkey didn’t have any national team they could not send any of the over 3000 applicants to Korea to compete. That’s why they formed the Turkish Gaming Federation.

Republic of Turkey’s Sport and Youth Committee President Yusuf Akyuz says:

“There’s a world championship at Seoul this month. There were three thousand applicants from Turkey. However, we do not have a national team so we could not send anyone.”

All video games will be included in the in the federation, but they will exclude gambling and luck-based games. The games will also be divided in age categories.

Check out the Turkish Gaming Federation page here: http://www.gsgm.gov.tr/Sayfalar/default.aspx

Good luck Turkey with this and I hope to see more countries do the same!
