August 2, 2011 5 comments

MLGMLG announced that they wont release any replays from the MLG Pro Circuit in Anaheim

There will be no replays to the public from the MLG Pro Circuit in Anaheim last weekend. They write:

We realize that this has been a popular feature, but unfortunately replay packs contain data which can be used to DDOS the player- and the event.

But they also say that they will send out the replays that has not been broadcasted to the public to some of the casters around the community to make all games available to everyone out there.

July 28, 2011 3 comments

If you are a Brood war gamer then you probably have seen the big finals between SlayerS_BoxeR and [NC]Yellow! Now you will have the chance to see them fight again but this time in StarCraft 2.

Yellow announced his retirement just a few weeks ago but we will see hem sooner then we think! The 5th of August is the date for the new fight! He will face SlayerS_BoxeR in a show match. Jungwon Chae wrote about this on his Twitter today. mprs over at Teamliquid wrote that the game will probably played at 18:00 KST and also that it might be streamed at GOMTV since Jungwon Chae announced about this.

A great week for the foreigners in Korea, LiquidHuK and FXOqxc made us proud!

FXOqxc - Photo:

All the foreigners are out of GSL July but in the GSTL we saw a great success win the last two games to win it for oGs-TL vs. Prime. And yesterday we saw FXOqxc team kill IM after 4 strong games.

Liquid’HuK seemed a bit nervous but happy when he walked to the booth to play in his first GSTL game, commentators and everyone at Twitter went crazy when they saw that it was Liquid’HuK that should take on CheckPrime. oGs-TL was down 2-3 when Liquid’HuK steeped in the booth and turned it around. He won the game and Prime sent up MarineKing but not even MarineKing could do anything against foreigner Liquid’HuK! oGs-TL won the game 4-3.

But the most impressive play last week was when FXOqxc team killed IM. FXOqxc took down: IM_Horror, IM_BBi, IM_Dreamertt and IM_MVP.

GSL October Final at Blizzcon in Anaheim

July 12, 2011 1 comment

Global StarCraft 2 League

This is amazing news, the GSL final in October will be held at Blizzcon in Anaheim, USA. This will give us TWO StarCraft 2 tournaments at Blizzon.

Mr.Chae from GOMTV writes that he got many requests from the foreign scene about hosting the GSL final outside South Korea so people around the world would have an easier way to watch the finals live. So Mr.Chae decided to look around on where GOMTV could host the finals and they ended up with Blizzcon in Anaheim USA.

I don’t want StarCraft 2 to become an e-sports title like SC BW which was excluded to people inside of Korea.

But this doesn’t mean that Blizzard are shutting down their own tournament at all. They will still host their tournament along with the GSL final. That means that we get twice as much StarCraft 2 action in Anaheim!

Yes, the final for GSL Oct. will be held in Anaheim. You will be able to enjoy both Blizzcon events and GSL final.
